Overview

Working alongside experienced engineers, co-ops have a unique opportunity to apply fundamental engineering principles to products that protect lives in communities around the world. The Electrical Engineering co-op will contribute to the Test Engineering group at MSA by collaborating on the following tasks:

Qualifications

 
- Hands-on technical aptitude
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Through-hole and surface-mount soldering experience preferred
- Testing experience preferred
 
 
Education and Experience required:
 
- Incumbent should be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering program, preferably at an ABET-accredited school, and must have completed at least two semesters prior to beginning this opportunity.

Responsibilities

 
- Assisting Test Engineers with plant support efforts
- Assisting Test Engineering Technician with overflow technician work in TE Lab
- Designing verification and calibration equipment for new product releases
- Working with LabView and TestStand
- Designing and setting up experiments
- Documenting test results
- Assembling mechanical parts; general wiring and soldering
- Maintaining existing systems
