Working alongside experienced MSA associates, co-ops have a unique opportunity to apply their academic learning to products that protect lives in communities around the world. The Production Supervisor Intern will report to the Production Manager at MSA’s Cranberry Plant.


Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Creative problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to communicate across organizational levels.
- General Understanding of Operations
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Education and Experience required:
- Incumbent must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field and have junior status.


The selected individual will be a hands-on contributor within MSA’s Cranberry Facility. The Intern will collaborate with Production Supervisors, Quality Engineers, Buyer/Planners, Manufacturing Engineers and the Production Associates within the Operations team. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Supporting the execution and continuous improvement of MSA Operating System. The intern will learn the problem solving methodology and look for opportunities to train and mentor associates on its use. In addition, working with the Production Supervisors to implement 6S solutions to improve the organization and consistency of daily restoration.
- Supporting the execution and continuous improvement of the production training program.   Assisting in completion of documentation, improved utilization of the Train the Trainer methodology and continuous improvement of the execution of the training program.
- Driving improvements to operational productivity levels. Assisting with easy solutions for tracking productivity and observing processes and associates to identify barriers to improve overall productivity levels.
- Support the execution of MSA’s behavior based safety program.
