Working alongside experienced engineers, co-ops have a unique opportunity to apply their academic learning to products that protect lives in communities around the world. Engineering co-ops in the Respiratory Protection group will develop technical, engineering, and research skills while collaborating with other engineering disciplines and corporate functions.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Providing support and developing improvement ideas for existing products & processes.
    • Drafting, designing and prototyping products
    • Collaborating with international associates to complete project goals
    • Gaining an awareness of budgetary, manufacturing and sourcing limitations
    • Completing other research and development work, as required.
    • Testing products to ensure they meet regulatory requirements in multiple countries and edge out competitors
    • Optimizing the performance of existing and new respirators.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    • Hands-on technical aptitude.
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills:written, verbal, and presentation.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools, with a special emphasis on Excel

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Incumbent must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably from an ABET-accredited program)
    • Must have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year.

    Preferred:

    • Pro-E or Solidworks CAD capability
    • Testing experience
    • Minitab statistical software experience
